Independence Day in L.A.

June 04, 2017

As cities across the United States prepare to celebrate Independence Day, Los Angeles is once again at the forefront of festivities with its Pacific Palisades Parade. It won’t cost you a dime to see the brass bedecked marchers and baton twirlers kickoff from historic Sunset Boulevard the afternoon of the Fourth, but for just fifty dollars, you can relax in the grandstands and enjoy an unimpeded view of the day’s performance. Though the parade is your best bet for the daylight hours, there are lots of great places to watch fireworks after dark. If you’re look for something really exclusive, though, we recommend booking a ticket for Skyslide, a new attraction at US Bank Tower downtown, where you'll take in the soaring pyrotechnics from about a thousand feet up in the air. And if you’re in the mood for a thrilling, family-friendly show, consider attending the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in concert with Grammy-winning group Pentatonix, the a cappella sensation whose recordings have now gone multi-platinum.
