A Day When Suddenly Everyone's Irish

March 05, 2017

An Irish fever sweeps across the home of the brave in the middle of March. Spring has yet to show its daisy-dotted head in most parts of the country, but California isn’t much concerned. West Hollywood in particular is about to show its appreciation with the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, an homage to its eponymous saint that finds the city’s very popular bars stocking up on green beer, with ribbons hung in every doorway.

Everyone is suddenly Irish on March 17th, and Le Montrose knows that’s worth celebrating. Tie on something with too many sequins, fasten a few more pieces of green flair, and don’t forget to arrive a little before noon. Stand aside as the downtown parade comes through. Accompanied by pipers piping and grand marshals keeping the peace, this raucous affair carries in the wake of its outrageous floats honorable politicians, local celebs, shining brass bands, and plenty of flowing kilts.
