Classic Sophistication, Cutting-Edge Innovation

April 03, 2017

As an intimate hide-away for artists and entertainers, Le Montrose strives to provide its guests with a balance of classic sophistication and cutting-edge innovation. In keeping with that philosophy, we recommend our guests enjoy an evening with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, which has been hailed by New Yorker critic Alex Ross as “the most creative, and, therefore, the best orchestra in the United States.” Since its founding almost a century ago, the Philharmonic has been at the forefront of the music world, presenting debut performances of controversial works by music giants like Igor Stravinsky and Arnold Schoenberg. Today, that commitment to the most invigorating artistry of the present, combined with an eye toward future possibilities, continues under the baton of Maestro Gustavo Dudamel, who, at age 24, sent shock waves through the world of contemporary classical music when he first appeared with the Philharmonic in 2005. The orchestra’s home, The Walt Disney Concert Hall, was designed by internationally renowned architect Frank Gehry and, as such, provides appropriately sublime visual aesthetics to match the orchestra’s own acoustic prowess.
